Worth sending

  • A correction, especially with a link to the operator's own page.
  • A building in the Asia-Pacific region with a structural idea we have missed.
  • A drawing, a section, or a technical paper. We will read a structural report for fun.
  • A photograph you took and would license. Credit is non-negotiable and stated beside the image.

Not worth sending

  • Booking enquiries. We are not a travel agent and cannot reach the hotel for you. Every sheet links to the resort's own site.
  • Offers to pay for coverage, a link, or a better score. The answer is no, and the offer gets mentioned on the sheet.
  • Anything from an online casino or bookmaker. We do not link to gambling operators.
  • Guest posts. There are no guest posts.

We do not ask for your phone number. Not on this page, not anywhere. There is no field for it, because there is no reason we would ever ring you.

What signing up actually does

Your name and email are processed on the basis of your consent, Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time by replying to any brief or writing to [email protected], and we will delete your record.

We use OneSignal, Inc. (United States) as our processor for email and web push under Article 28. Their SDK loads from their CDN, registers a service worker on this domain, and stores identifiers in your browser's localStorage and IndexedDB. Their privacy policy is on their site.

That means your data is transferred outside the UK, to the United States. The transfer is covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Push notifications require your permission, and it is your browser that asks, not us. Declining changes nothing else on this site. Under PECR we cannot send them without that consent, and you can revoke it in your browser settings at any moment without telling us.

We keep your subscription until you withdraw it. We do not run analytics or advertising pixels, we do not profile you, and we do not sell or rent your details to anyone. Full detail in the privacy notice and the cookie notice.
